This heartbeat is part of a series that was first published in the church bulletin when Covenant EFC embarked on our Seed Fund Faith Journey.

“And God is able to make all grace abound to you…and increase the harvest of your righteousness.” – 2 Corinthians 9:8,10

In our 40th anniversary celebration last year, we embarked on a faith journey to raise a Seed Fund of $40M. This is to fulfil our Faith Exploits in Vision 2028 & Beyond. By God’s grace in the Phase 1 Firstfruits offering, we collected $12.5M. Praise the Lord for his faithful provision and the wonderful generosity of God’s people through their gifts and contributions – including sale of home-cooked food, delicacies and auction of personal artworks.

Come this December 2019 to April 2020 will be our next phase of fundraising to bring in the full  harvest of $40M. If we give as God has blessed and enabled us, we believe there will be an overflowing excess. As in our previous property journey (BPJ, WDL, ACKCentre), God supplied richly and we are completely debt-free. Our role is to believe that God has given Covenant EFC a special destiny to disciple our city as well as the nations beyond. That’s why you are in Covenant EFC today, because you have been discipled! Now is the God-opportunity to bless others. If you have already been involved in previous property journeys, then surely you can testify that God is no men’s debtor and you have stored up for yourself treasures in heaven.

Ultimately, the harvest we seek is a harvest of souls. We build structures and facilities not as monuments, but so that we can raise a movement of authentic disciples and intentional disciplemakers who love and follow hard after Christ. Today, BPJ Centre is still experiencing growth even after 20 years. Our new worship services (contemplative service and young adult service) next year will further revitalize us. WDL Centre has added new rooms for TNG to cater to a growing capacity. It should be ready by the first quarter of 2020. East Centre has been growing so well in our rented premises, from 250 to over 800 now. By divine providence, we now have an opportunity to purchase a property for Covenant East. A thorough due diligence is currently being conducted and the necessary approvals are being sought.

Brothers and sisters, not all churches grow. Growth comes from God. We must work while it is still day. God is able to make all grace abound to us and increase the harvest of righteousness! Let’s move from our Firstfruits to the Full Harvest!
