This heartbeat is part of a series that was first published in the church bulletin when Covenant EFC embarked on our Seed Fund Faith Journey.

“Tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the LORD, and His might, and the wonders that He has done.” – Psalm 78:4b

As Covenant EFC crosses the generational threshold and enter its 41st year, we stand in awe of the wonders that He has done in and through us. Once the smallest congregation of the smallest denomination in Singapore, today it is one of Singapore’s largest churches. By His might, He has made us a blessing to the nations as we grow the IDMC movement locally, regionally and globally.

With the psalmist, we can truly declare His glorious deeds of establishing Covenant EFC’s three worship centres.

BPJ Centre will be 20 years old by 2020. On our first Sunday in September 2000, we exploded from 400 to 1100. We didn’t expect it. It was a literal fulfilment of Isaiah 60:22 that “the least of you will become a thousand…” God did it! (Rev Tan Kay Kiong)

WDL Centre, established in 2008, was built to launch a disciplemaking centre in the north. From an initial core group of 400 Covenanters, we now have 1,500 adults worshipping regularly. After a decade, we have now launched A&A works to expand more rooms for our TNG ministries and for collaboration with New Life to minister to our community for Christ. The Lord is faithful and He continues to prosper the work! (Rev Chua Chung Kai)

Covenant East was birthed from a prayer burden in 2014. What started out as 200 pioneers in November 2016, has now grown to a worship community averaging 700 adults and over 120 kids weekly. The pioneers uprooted themselves from their community and the comforts of BPJ & WDL Centres, went eastward in vision, faith, courage, and planted Covenant EFC’s newest worship centre. (Rev Barney Lau)

Indeed, we can tell the coming generations how the Lord provided Covenant EFC with three properties without drawing a bank loan. These house the BPJ and WDL congregations, and our production and training centre (ACK Centre). We have now been gifted by divine providence, the opportunity to purchase a property to house Covenant East. Our Firstfruit fundraising through March 2019 has yielded $12.5M towards this purpose.

We will soon launch the next phase of fundraising called Full Harvest. We are seeking the Lord to provide a Seed Fund of $40M which will go mostly towards establishing Covenant East’s new worship centre.

Please prayerfully consider how the Lord would have you contribute towards the Full Harvest, a beautiful legacy that we will leave to future generations as a declaration of the Lord’s glorious deeds, might and wonders!
